Dishing Out an Assist to a Worthy Cause

ebTalk Assist

We donate over 25% of all tournament proceeds to a local charity, a family in need or anybody else who could use an assist.

This is our way of utilizing the ebTalk Benefit Pool for some good in the community and help those in need. We have raised over $10,000 since the inception of the tournament to help a variety of causes. With that said, we would like to announce our ebTalk Assist for 2025:

Kelsey Williams LLS Campaign

Kelsey Williams is a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Man & Woman of the Year campaign here in Wichita. It’s a cause that hits as close to home for her than anybody. For ten weeks, starting March 8th, men and women across the country will be raising awareness of the research, programs, and advocacy being conducted through LLS.

Danielle Lamb

In November, our friend, Danielle Lamb, went in for surgery and would hear she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. 12 out of 22 lymph nodes were positive, and later a scan revealed the cancer had metastasized to multiple organs in her body.

Since then, Danielle has been fighting hard going through multiple treatments.

Pursuing treatment at MD Anderson along with all the hurdles of insurance comes with significant financial challenges. Danielle, and her husband Ricky, are both self-employed which now puts a strain on them with Danielle unable to work during this time. As they’ve found out, not everything is covered by insurance, leaving their family of four to shoulder an overwhelming financial burden.

Danielle is now ready to fight. After all, she has a beautiful 2-year old and 7-year old that need her.

Galesburg Relief Fund

The Galesburg Relief Fund is a non-profit dedicated to assisting people who have encountered a sudden crisis in their lives. This includes anyone of any age such as an infant with a rare heart defect, a person stricken with a sudden illness or a family that has lost their home to fire or natural disaster. Since their establishment in 2007, they’ve given away nearly $350,000 to people in need. Funds are generated through various events held throughout the year including our annual golf tournament and pork spare rib sale. This would not be possible without people coming together for the cause of helping others. Through the years they have helped many past participants of the ebTalk Benefit Pool who have been stricken with such tragedies as cancer, illnesses, injury and some who have passed away. They most recently also donated money to past ebTalk assist with Owen’s Warriors.
