Day 4 Recap – March 20: The Sweet 16 Is Set

What a game to end the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament!

After the second round of games, 14-year vet Brandon Pope has jumped to the top spot in the standings. The last and only time Brandon has been number one in the standings was back in the very first day of tournament play in 2019. An interesting sidenote: the last two leaders after day four have gone on to win the tournament pool

In second is 15-year Lifer Drew Droegemeier who fell one spot back followed by newcomers Andrea Stephan and Brad Painchaud who are tied for third.

Five people went 12 for 16 which was the high for the round of 32 games. Brandon Pope, Drew Droegemeier, Brian Howell, Megan Royer, and Robert Strickler. All sit in the top 10 except for Robert who is at 19th.

The biggest jump in the standings today went to 15-year Lifer Zack Miller who jumped 340 spots from 494th place to 154th place. Unfortunately, he has Kentucky winning in that bracket so it’s looking bleak.

In Survivor, three people were knocked out following losses by Wisconsin, Texas and Illinois: Penny Madden, Damon Solomon and Joshua Bellamy. Only 9 people remain.

For the Family Pool, The House of Pope made a big jump over the rest of the competition and hold a 6 point lead over The House of Droegemeier in the 4-6 family member division. Meanwhile, The House of Brotemarkle retained their lead and sit six points over The House of Howell.

In Couple Up, Eddy Brotemarkle and Megan Royer have a slim one point lead over current leader Brandon Pope and his wife Melissa.
